Renowned media personality and social activist Adelle Onyango is excited to announce the screening of her debut film, Home, which will begin in April at Unseen Nairobi. The film, a poetic exploration of an African woman’s journey to rediscover and reclaim her body, first premiered on February 21 at Shalom House Gardens, and its upcoming screenings are highly anticipated.
For Adelle, this project is deeply personal. “To be able to share my poetry with you through this film is just so special to me!” she expressed ahead of the film’s premiere. The short poetry film offers a unique, immersive experience that showcases Adelle’s skillful storytelling in a new format.
The process of bringing Home to life was transformative for Adelle, as she began shooting the film in 2024. Reflecting on the experience, she described it as a journey that included early mornings, late nights, and the joy of working with actors—and even an animal. “It was a life-changing experience seeing my poetry come to life on screen, working with actors, and even an animal! A week of early mornings and late nights that I absolutely loved!” she shared.

The screenings of Home at Unseen Nairobi will take place on April 7th at 5 pm, April 8th at 5 pm, April 9th at 7 pm with a special director Q&A, April 10th at 5 pm, and April 11th at 5 pm.
