Traders yesterday blocked a section of Jogoo Road during heated protests.
The protests arose from traders opposing evacuation notice from the Nairobi County government.
Claiming that they were not given enough time to move and were not provided with an alternative space where they can sell. The traders have been advised to dialogue peacefully with the county government.
To come up with a temporary solution as they await the completion of the modern market where they will be placed.
In the midst of the chaos, goons have taken advantage of the situation.
With alleged mugging and car jacking by notorious thieves being reported by residents around the area as well as those using the route to go to Nairobi CBD .
The contractor is expected to begin the construction of the 315 million ultra modern market immediately.
The site will then be handed over to the county government.
Kenyans are advised to avoid Jogoo Road until further notice.
