Good news today as Saudi Arabia postpones execution of Kenyan Steven Mumyakho son to veteran journalist Dorothy Kweyu.
Munyakho now called Abdulkareem was jailed in Shimeisi Prison in the governate of Mecca.
He had been jailed for 13 years for allegedly killing his workmate a Yemeni national after an alleged misunderstanding while he was working as a warehouse manager in Saudi Arabia .
The execution was initially set for May 13 but was postponed for further diplomatic discussions.
During a state Iftar dinner hosted by President Ruto at State house,Nairobi attended by high Muslim dignitaries on Tuesday UDA secretary-general Omar announced that the negotiations had borne fruit.
“They have confirmed that the request has been honoured, the 1 million dollars paid and the Kenyan will return home safe”.
Kenyans have been urged to respect the laws of the countries they choose to work in to avoid facing dire consequences.
