Renson Igonga, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), has been honored as the top Public Service CEO at the 2025 Digital Transformation Public Sector Awards held in Mombasa. This esteemed recognition stems from his exemplary efforts in advancing digital innovation within the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).
The accolade was bestowed upon Igonga by William Kabogo, the Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communication, and Digital Economy, during a ceremony on Friday, February 28. This honor underscores Igonga’s leadership and dedication to modernizing the ODPP, enhancing efficiency and service delivery in the public sector.
Igonga shared his enthusiasm regarding the ongoing digital transformation within his office. “We are thrilled about the digital transformation, and I assure you that the ODPP will lead in adapting to the digital era,” he stated. The DPP achieved second place among six nominees in his category, following a thorough assessment by a panel of judges from both public and private sectors.
This recent accolade adds to Igonga’s impressive list of accomplishments. In 2024, he was chosen as President of the Africa Prosecutors Association (APA) during a conference in Morocco. He also received the Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear (CBS) award from President William Ruto at State House in Nairobi, further establishing his status as a respected leader in Kenya’s public service.
Igonga’s leadership continues to motivate positive changes within the ODPP, positioning the office as a significant contributor to the digital transformation of the public sector.
