Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba has announced the timeline for the opening of the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) portal for students applying for university courses for the September 2025 intake.
Students who completed the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exam have been anticipating the portal opening, as they require it to select their preferred university courses. In a statement issued on Thursday, February 28, CS Ogamba confirmed that the KUCCPS portal will be accessible in March 2025, following the standard schedule.
The CS highlighted that this aligns with the annual placement timeline, which allows students to initiate the application process for the September 2025 intake. He made this declaration while updating the admission and funding information for the 2024 KCSE candidates.
It’s important to mention that the KUCCPS portal was previously opened on January 24, 2025, for the placement of students in Kenya Medical Training Colleges (KMTC), Teacher Training Colleges, and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions, for the March and May 2025 intakes.
Typically, the Education Cabinet Secretary authorizes KUCCPS to open the portal once the KCSE results are announced, enabling students to commence the placement procedure.
