Kenyan content creator Flaqo is over the moon after his popular show, Kwa Akina Otis, has officially been picked up by NTV, marking a huge milestone in his career. The show will air every weekday at noon, giving fans a daily dose of entertainment, comedy, and much-needed laughter.
Flaqo, known for his beloved character Mama Otis, a no-nonsense African mother, took to his social media to share the exciting news with his followers. In a heartfelt post, he expressed his gratitude and reflected on his journey. “My biggest inspiration has been my growth story, and I thank God for making the future Flaqo my current biggest inspiration… Thank you 411 Productions for holding me down since day one. I had a dream of acting on any program, but I never imagined I’d actually own a program on TV. His grace is so sufficient,” Flaqo shared.
Kwa Akina Otis has become a fan favorite, largely due to the unique and relatable character of Mama Otis, which Flaqo attributes to his own mother. “Mama Otis, in a way, is actually my mum,” Flaqo explained. “At first, she wasn’t a big fan of the character because she felt I was revealing her identity to the whole world. But she’s since come around. My dad was also unenthusiastic about the idea, but he gave me the benefit of the doubt.”
However, Flaqo’s portrayal of Mama Otis has led to some curious questions about his sexuality. Due to his piercing and the feminine nature of his character, some viewers assumed he might be gay. Flaqo responded to these assumptions with humor and confidence, saying, “Honestly, I know some people are waiting for me to come out! But I’m not coming out from anywhere. I’m straight. What I do is just to entertain people. When I take off Mama Otis’ clothes, it’s just me, Flaqo. There’s nothing feminine about me at all.”
Despite the challenges, Flaqo’s rise to fame has been nothing short of inspirational. From humble beginnings to landing his very own show on national TV, Flaqo’s journey is a testament to his hard work and dedication. Fans of Kwa Akina Otis can now catch him every weekday at noon on NTV, where his unique blend of humor and relatability continues to win over hearts across the nation.
