Former KTN journalist Ken Mijungu has allegedly lost his job at TV47 just days after announcing he would be joining the media house. His contract was terminated following a request for time off to consider his options regarding his role with the company.
The dismissal was communicated in a letter dated February 22, 2025. Mijungu had written to Cape Media management on February 21, seeking time off to reflect on his engagement with the company.
In response, the CEO of Cape Media confirmed the management’s approval of Mijungu’s request for early contract termination, which was submitted just days after he had joined TV47. The letter read in part: “We acknowledge receipt of your email dated February 21, 2025, in which you requested time off to reflect on your engagement with the company.
Having considered the matter, management has taken the decision to revoke the Service Agreement dated 31st January 2025. This decision takes effect from the 22nd of February 2025. This development notwithstanding, we shall be pleased to engage with you on future possibilities. Management wishes you the best in your future endeavours.”
Mijungu had joined TV47 in January, shortly after announcing his departure from Standard Group’s KTN.
