Kenya has taken a bold step launching the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy by the ICT Ministry, a five year plan set to put us on the map as Africa’s leading AI innovator.
“AI is not a choice ;it’s an imperative.With a clear strategy Kenya will harness AI’s potential while safeguarding ethical standards, security and inclusivity” said CS of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy ,William Kabogo at the launch in KICC,Nairobi.
The strategy will be centered on AI digital infrastructure, data,AI governance and AI research and commercialization.
Adding that Kenya will not only be a consumer but “active architects of our digital future, shaping development and driving innovation”.
He noted that the government is making investments in the digital sector and with strategic partnerships Kenya will steadily be a hub of thriving AI enterprise’s.
And encouraged the private sector and academia to join the bandwagon as the adoption of AI is set to enhance immense economic growth.
