Fast food giant McDonald’s will be testing out the vegetable burger better known as McVeggie in its Canada outlet.
This comes as an attempt to expand its menu to healthier alternatives. A prior attempt back in September 2019 that began as a 12 week trial in early 2020 named the P.L.T(Plant,Lettuce,Tomato) sandwich featuring a Beyond Burger did not yield much results and was eventually discontinued.
Currently the Mcveggie has been available in India,Brazil,Australia or New Zealand among other places.
Each made distinctly to appeal to their respective local market.
This particular Canadian version of breaded patty will include a blend of green beans, soybean, carrots, peas, broccoli and corn, seasoned and topped with mayo sauce. It will come with spicy habanero varieties.
They will be testing the McVeggie in some restaurants in Canada until April 14.
McDonald’s Canada CMO Francesca Cardarelli said this their first test of McVeggie and are using the opportunity “to gain insights and get customer’s feedback so we can continue delivering on our commitment to serve great tasting, quality food that Canadians will love and enjoy”.
