Celebrations are taking place in Namibia as the country has elected its first female president Her Excellency Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah.
President ruto sent his well wishes stating,
“We join the people of Namibia in celebrating the historic inauguration of their first female president, Her Excellency Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah.It was double a Celebration as the country was also marking its 35th independence anniversary.”.
He went ahead to express his excitement in looking forward to work together to improve relations between both countries.
She previously served as the third vice-president between 2024 to 2025.
Deputy prime minister 2015-2024.
Minister of International Relations and Cooperation December 2012-2015.
Minister of Environment and Tourism from March 2010 to December 2012.
President’s from the following countries were present at the inauguration:
South Africa,Zimbabwe, DRC Congo,Mozambique ,Sahrawi and Angola.
Ellen Johnson Sirleaf was the first elected female president in Africa paving the way for the rest to be recognised.
