Pope Francis made his first public appearance on March 23 following a 5 week stay in the Gemelli hospital in Rome Italy where he was admitted for double pneumonia.
The 88-year old who also appeared in public on February 14th before being discharged left the facility shortly after noon.
The Vatican released a brief text prepared by the Pope thanking his doctors for their “tireless care”.
He’s still in recovery though as doctors have prescribed a further two months of rest at the Vatican with instructions to avoid stressful engagements.
The Pope had been set to meet with Britain’s King Charles on April 8 and to lead the Vatican’s Annual Easter celebrations on April 20.
It remains unclear which engagements he will be attending in the coming months.
We wish him a speedy recovery.
