Kenyan singer Stevo Simple Boy is on a mission to fight drug and alcohol abuse, especially among the youth. The Mihadarati hitmaker is rallying support from all sectors of society to tackle this growing issue and help young Kenyans overcome addiction.
On March 12, Stevo met with Geoffrey Mosiria, the Chief Environment Officer for Nairobi County, to discuss their shared concern about the damaging effects of drugs and alcohol on young people. The two are determined to work together to find solutions and create awareness about the dangers of substance abuse.
Stevo Simple Boy revealed that he has started a new initiative called the Simple Boy Foundation, aimed at helping young people quit drugs. During their meeting, Stevo expressed his belief that Mosiria was the right person to collaborate with on this important cause. “I’ve been looking for the right person to help with this, and I believe you are the one,” Stevo said, referring to Mosiria’s potential role in the foundation.
Stevo went on to announce the launch of the Simple Boy Foundation with Mosiria’s support. He emphasized that this initiative will help many young people who are struggling with addiction, and he called on all Kenyans to join the fight against drugs. “Together, we can make a real difference and help save our society,” Stevo said.
Mosiria, in return, expressed his full backing for Stevo’s efforts. He acknowledged the impact of drug abuse on the youth in Nairobi and shared his own experience of witnessing the challenges firsthand. “I see young people on the streets using drugs every day, and I want to help them stay sober and build a better future,” he explained.
The environment officer promised to support the Simple Boy Foundation by contributing personally and helping with registrations. He also mentioned his efforts in cleaning up the streets, which includes removing drugs from public spaces, in hopes of encouraging youths to stay away from harmful substances.
Stevo’s commitment to raising awareness about drug abuse is not new. His 2017 hit Mihadarati is a powerful message to young people about the dangers of drugs. Now, through the Simple Boy Foundation, Stevo and Mosiria aim to take their message further and create lasting change in the fight against addiction.
